The school council was very busy during the autumn term.
We decided that there were some jobs that children could help with around school and we wrote job descriptions for each of them. We decided to pay one Spire pound for each job because we thought they were all important jobs. We chose lots of things to go into the school shop that we could buy with the money that we earned. Mrs McLaughlin advertised them in the job centre and interviewed the children who applied. Children were appointed to do lunchtime helper, first aider and behaviour officer jobs.
We then thought about how we could keep safe in school and what to do if we felt unsafe or worried or sad. We asked class councils what they thought and gave Mrs McLaughlin a list of things that we thought children could do. Miss Morris made this into a poster for us. We decided that posters should be put in every class and in the toilets so that all the children in school could see them.
