Dear Parents/ Carers
Thank you for completing and returning ‘Space research’ homework to school. The children have been keen to share their facts and learn more. Our new learning theme is ‘To Infinity and Beyond’ and is all about Space.
Next week we will be having a Whole school ‘Mad Science Day’, please find a white shirt for your child to wear to school so that they can look like a scientist.
|Our Weekly Learning theme:|
|Week 1||Blast Off|
|Week 2||Astronauts: We will be learning about Neil Armstrong in history and how astronauts stay healthy in space.|
|Week 3||Night and Day: We will be having a special visit from the Auriga Observatory to show children the constellations and a sky at night simulation.|
|Week 4||Night and Day: We will be focusing on our writing and writing facts and information texts about nocturnal animals.|
|Week 5||The Planets: We will be learning about planet order and making papier mache planets.|
|Week 6||The Planets and the moon.
We will be having a musical spoons workshop (children thoroughly enjoyed this last year!).
|Week 7||Star constellations – Preparing for Easter.
There will be an Easter activity morning on April 7th, come and engage in Easter craft activities with your child.
Please note that we will not being doing Show and Tell on Friday afternoons anymore. Toys and jewellery need to be kept at home.
Some parents requested useful websites for children to play/ investigate educational games, these sites are quite useful:
Google search Coxhoe and follow links to areas of learning in Numeracy and Literacy. There are lots of games based ‘fun’ activities on this site.
Please note: We break up for half term on the 11th April for the Easter holiday.
